The Chase Youth Commission is a group of high school teens appointed by the Mayor, City Council and Board of County Commissioners to empower youth as leaders who bring about positive change in our community. Youth Commissioners are paired with a City Council or County Commission member during the school year, host events like the Youth Issues Candidates Forum and Chase Youth Awards, and pursue their own agenda of initiatives.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Spokane City Hall, and host events as listed above. Time commitment averages 3-4 hours per month and events average approximately 2-3 hours each.
Chase Youth Commissioner terms are September through June with a planning retreat in mid to late August. Applications for the 2024 – 2025 CYC Board term will be accepted April 1 – June 15, 2024.
